About This Website

A Love Letter to Tezu

This website is a sincere and heartfelt effort to showcase Tezu — a small, extraordinary town in the Lohit Valley of Arunachal Pradesh — as one of the most beautiful, unspoiled corners of India.

It is a tribute to the land, its rivers, its forests, and above all, its people — the Mishmi, Khamti, Digaru, Miju, and every community that calls this valley home. Their warmth, their traditions, their quiet dignity, and their deep connection to nature are what make Tezu unlike anywhere else on Earth.

We believe that Tezu deserves to be known — not for mass tourism, but for the kind of travel that is gentle, respectful, and deeply enriching for both the visitor and the visited. Every word on this site is written with that hope.

This is not a government website or an official tourism body. It is an independent project born out of genuine love and respect for this land.

No monetary propositions are sought, nor any advertisements accepted. This website exists purely as an expression of our gratitude — for a place that has given us so much, and asks for so little in return.

Disclaimer: All information on this website has been collated from publicly available sources — public websites, travel publications, local knowledge, and personal research. Distances, prices, timings, permit rules, and contact information may change without notice. We accept no responsibility for any inconvenience or loss arising from the use of this information. With love, for Tezu and for everyone who journeys there.

The Lohit Valley Promise

A pledge from every traveller to care for this land, its people, and its wilderness

01

Respect the People

Ask before photographing. Listen to local stories. Buy handloom directly from artisans. Every interaction is a cultural exchange.

02

Protect the Wilderness

Carry out all waste. Stay on marked trails. Avoid single-use plastics. The Kamlang forests and Glow Lake are irreplaceable.

03

Support Local

Stay in homestays. Hire local guides. Eat local food. Your rupee directly feeds a family and preserves a tradition.

"I promise to travel gently through the Lohit Valley — to respect its people, protect its wilderness, support its economy, and carry its stories with honesty and love."

Mishmi homestay story

"Ninashi Auntie's Kitchen Changed My Travel Forever"

I came for the wildlife but stayed for the people. Ninashi auntie's tea garden homestay in Wakro served us rice beer and smoked pork while her grandchildren taught us Mishmi songs. No resort in the world can manufacture that kind of warmth. I've been back three times now.
